Editor Profiles

Linda is a Senior Editor for the BMC Series since July 2018 and the Co-Editor of BMC Cancer. She holds a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine from Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. Before joining BioMed Central, Linda completed her joint PhD in altered protein degradation mechanisms in renal cell carcinomas at the Charite University Hospital and Humboldt University in Berlin and then continued to work for a Berlin-based NGO as programme manager. Here Linda designed, launched and developed a successful programme to integrate refugees into the German labour market. Linda brings great passion to her work on BMC Cancer and BMC Palliative Care while fervently supporting and promoting Open Access and Open Science.

Nicola is a Senior Editor for the BMC Series and the Co-Editor of BMC Cancer. Before joining BioMed Central in March 2021, Nicola was a Senior Editor at PLOS ONE in the Life Sciences team and was a News and Views Intern at the Journal of Experimental Biology. She holds a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Bath, UK, with year-long research project at Dartmouth College, USA, investigating cell cycle regulation in budding yeast. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Cambridge where she worked on a chromatin associated protein and its role in gene regulation at the Babraham Institute. In joining the BMC Series Nicola looks forward to continuing to champion for Open Science communication and publishing.
